Terry Jones
Kootenay Ice GM
Terry has been playing and coaching hockey in the Kootenays for most of his life. Along with coaching at all levels of minor hockey, he has been coaching and managing the Beaver Valley Nitehawks of the KIJHL for the past 20 years. His playing career included stints with the Portland Winterhawks, University of Calgary Dinos, the Canadian National team and professional hockey in Germany. He has been teaching at J.L. Crowe Secondary school since 1997 and is now Vice Principal at the school where he is the coordinator of the male hockey program at the school. This is his first year as GM of the Ice and looks forward to combining MML hockey, JLC Hockey Academy and academics in his VP portfolio. Terry and his wife Loretta reside in Montrose.
Kris Boyce
Head Coach
Boyce grew up in Fruitvale, playing for the Beaver Valley Nitehawks of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) before moving on to the Cowichan Valley Capitals (BCHL) . While playing for the Capitals, Boyce won the team’s Rookie of the Year award after the 2003-2004 season, and served as captain during the 2005-2006 season. After his Junior career ended, Boyce played post secondary hockey with the University of Minnesota-Duluth Saints and the Eastern Washington University Eagles (NCAA Division II). From 2011 to 2012, he served as an assistant coach with the Beaver Valley Nitehawks, helping the team claim a KIJHL title. Kris is currently employed as an engineer in the Trail area.
Paul Mailey
Assistant Coach
Mailey was born and raised in Trail, BC where he played minor hockey and then joined the BCHL’s Trail Smoke Eaters from 2006 to 2010, where he served as team captain in his last couple of years. In 2011 he moved to Calgary to attend the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), where he played for the SAIT Trojans in the Alberta College Athletic Conference (ACAC). Paul works as a project manager in the Trail area where he resides with his wife Stacey.
Tyler Hlookoff
Assistant Coach
Hlookoff was born and raised in the Castlegar area. He played locally with the Castlegar Rebels (KIJHL) and Quesnel Millionaires (BCHL) before playing in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Edmonton Ice (now the Kootenay Ice). He played ACAC and Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) hockey with SAIT and the University of Lethbridge as he obtained his degree in Information Technology (IT). He currently works in the IT industry and resides in Genelle, BC.

Jessie Wyllie
Athletic Therapist
Jessie is a certified Athletic Therapist with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association as well as a certified Sports First Responder. She is extremely passionate about her work, primarily specializing in the treatment of youth athletes and focusing on injury prevention. Over the years she has been able to work with a variety of athletes in all sports ranging from high school level up to national and Paralympic levels. Her favorite moments have been working with the Peterborough Lakers Sr. A lacrosse team for the 2015 Mann Cup Championship as well as with the Canadian National Wheelchair Rugby team (and of course with the Kootenay Ice Major Midget Team!!). Currently, along with working with the Ice, Jessie treats out of the Kootenay Athletic Therapy Clinic in Nelson
Garett Ferguson
Asst. GM / Play By Play Host
Garett was born and raised in Montrose. He graduated from SAIT in 2011 with a Diploma in Radio Broadcasting. After a brief stint working in Whitehorse, Garett decided to travel the world before returning home. He spent almost 3 years living in Australia and Italy, during his time in Australia he met his girlfriend Elisa who now lives with him in Trail. His favourite hockey team is the Edmonton Oilers, and his favourite player is Mark Messier. Other sports he enjoys include baseball, football, cricket and Australian Rules football. The last two he grew to like from his time living down under. His favourite broadcasters are Vin Scully, Don Taylor and Dennis Cometti.
