The BCMML season kicks off this weekend, and the Kootenay Ice start the season off with a bye weekend. While the team is eager to get started, the extra time will be used to work on finer details of their game.

A couple players have and will see some  Junior B action over the weekend due to a couple of roster call ups.

The team is looking forward to their first weekend set of games when they head to Richmond on September 30th and October 1st to take on the Greater Vancouver Canadians during the BCMML Showcase weekend.

The Kootenay Ice have their roster in place and participated in the Okanagan Rockets Annual Ice Breaker exhibition  tournament this past weekend.

The weekend was a perfect time for our coaches to get a look at new line combinations and special team’s assignments. After it was all said and done the Ice had a fantastic weekend, leaving with a 3 and 1 record.

Taking on some teams outside the BCMML, the Ice defeated the Wenatchee Wolves, Everett Silvertips Elite and the POE Midget Prep before falling to the Thompson Blazers on Sunday.

The players continue to bond on and off the ice and it looks like the year has plenty of promise.

The finalized roster is on our players page

The players will continue to practice and get familiarized with each other over the next couple weeks in time for our season opener at the end of September.
